RENNES GREETERS Website page
This page is managed on the Greeters de France portal
Greeters de France Portal- Click on the logo.
Each of the “Greeter de France” destinations is led and managed by a local actor: Association, collective of residents or tourist entity (Tourist Offices, Departmental Tourism Committee). These actors are all members of the FFG (France Greeters Federation) and as such respect the same operating rules. They follow the values and ethics defined globally by IGA (International Greeter Association). The management and coordination of the France Greeters Federation ensures the pooling of our processes and tools, our global presence on the Web and social networks as well as the sharing of our communication programs.
How to become a Greeter in Avignon Provence?
Our greeters are not alone in nature, they are part of local communities of at least 5 greeters. These are communities of residents, associations or tourist organizations such as the Tourist Office. All follow the same Greeters Charter and the same values. Come and join us !
Fill out this first contact form and we will get back to you quickly!

Rennes inbetween art, culture and good addresses
Amandine J., 33 years old, purebred Breton.
I was keen to come back to Brittany just before Covid 😉
When my friends come to visit me I love showing them this city that I love and which is constantly moving – so I can’t wait to show you it too! I propose you to :
– Take you along the Vilaine, from the Bourellec brothers’ belvedere to the old Moulin,
– Help you discover the city’s many tags such as those of War (our Rennes Banksy)
– Raise your head to look at the timber-framed buildings, and the beautiful monuments such as the opera, the Parliament, the St Georges swimming pool.
– Go for a stroll in the most beautiful park in Rennes: the Thabor with its kiosk, its rose garden and the little view of the orange tiles worthy of a Tuscan postcard.
I also love little cafes, little second-hand shops and designer stores – which I could show you along the way to prolong the moment together!

Rennes eclectic while wandering on foot, by bike or by running
Breton by adoption, I fell in love with Brittany and in particular the city of Rennes. Sporty in nature, I offer an eclectic stroll in Rennes by strolling on foot, by bike (bike rental possible in the city center) or by running (for the more athletic!), through the emblematic monuments.
I do not forget, if you wish, to share a convivial moment over a drink and/or a meal at various addresses that I appreciate and even in the tradition of Rennes (must visit the Lices market on Saturday morning to taste the famous pancake-sausage).
I like to share my vision of architectural heritage with modern life in Rennes! Living on the outskirts of Rennes, I can also take you on a bike ride along the canal, in the countryside of Rennes. Allow half a day to explore Rennes.

Unmissable and Unusual
I have lived in Rennes since my college years, now 68 years old, I have seen the city evolve over the past 50 years…. with more services of places of culture and leisure.
I suggest a stroll around the city center between unmissable places (the lices, parliament square, thabor garden…) and discovery of more or less unusual places according to your wishes (st martin meadows and tanners’ garden, the ‘hotel dieu, hotel pasteur, MUR, Odorico achievements…). A walk of about 1h30.

Stroll through Rennes yesterday and today

From old Rennes to the modern city
I am 75 years old, retired PE teacher. I speak English I taught language in English. Having lived in Rennes for 28 years, I discovered the city and its riches.
I have the pleasure of strolling through the medieval streets, pointing out where you can taste pastry or chocolate specialties. I like to talk about “Jeu de paume” and the French expressions that remain in our daily lives, to evoke ”Le Hot Club de Rennes” and its jazzmen in the 1940s on rue St Georges.
I will show you the Criée district with its small restaurants and renowned food shops which will make you salivate a little, the Esplanade Charles de Gaulle to admire the contemporary buildings and places of cultural life, Euro pole which will impress you with its quirky buildings. To finish the walk, I can take you to some tempting bar terraces.

JEAN-JACQUES
A discovery-stroll in city center.
Born in the late 1940s in the station district, I have experienced the major transformations of the city from the 1950s to today… The “discovery strolls” that I offer take place in the historic center. Walks that are an opportunity to talk about the city, its history, its evolution, and its dynamics.
Show our guests that if Rennes is a city inscribed in the history of Brittany, Rennes is also a city open to the world, a young and dynamic city, but a city confronted with societal problems like all metropolises can experience. In summary, I want to show that Rennes is a city where life is good…”.
