Discover Rochefort Océan a local, a Greeter !
Between land and ocean, Rochefort Océan offers vast natural spaces shaped by maritime history. At the heart of this landscape of estuary, marshes, and islands where the Charente meanders, the Great Site “Estuaire de la Charente – Arsenal de Rochefort” celebrates the legacy of the Arsenal founded under Louis XIV. The Royal cordages manufacture and the string of fortifications, including the famous Fort Boyard, are its emblems.
Explore the coastline, the Fouras and Port-des-Barques peninsulas, the islands of Aix and Madame, and travel from one bank to the other by boat or on the suspended platform of the Transporter Bridge. With our Greeters, explore vibrant nature and a rich history, on foot or by bike, to the rhythm of the tides.
