Come and meet our Greeters, for a stroll through the streets of Limoges, in the gardens, on a hiking trail, by bike or on foot, during a shopping trip or a gastronomic discovery. The greeters, women and men, are volunteers, and are motivated by meetings and cultural exchange!

Limoges (in Occitan: Limòtges) is a commune in Nouvelle-Aquitaine located in the Great South-West of France, prefecture of the Haute-Vienne department and capital of the historical region Limousin.

Who are we?
So that the visitor can discover the Limoges Metropolis “differently”, soak up its atmosphere, meet its population and understand the territory, the Greeters are happy to welcome you, as they would with their friends.
They volunteer during their free time, to share their passions during a walk and a friendly meeting. They are true ambassadors of their territory, they can also share favorites and good plans.

Each of the “Greeter de France” destinations is led and managed by a local actor: Association, collective of residents or tourist entity (Tourist Offices, Departmental Tourism Committee). These actors are all members of the FFG (France Greeters Federation) and as such respect the same operating rules. They follow the values and ethics defined globally by IGA (International Greeter Association). The management and coordination of the France Greeters Federation ensures the pooling of our processes and tools, our global presence on the Web and social networks as well as the sharing of our communication programs.

My favorite walk around Les Halles
All our Greeters are in love with the Halles district, but each in their own way: you will discover according to their taste the mysteries of the brothers of the Limousin Ostensions brotherhoods (listed as UNESCO intangible heritage), the statue of Jesus having a bite to eat, why Auguste Renoir is always at his window (if it is open) with his busty model, the Limousin invention of polyphony and even the Limousin donut… Everything is possible.

In the land of Saint Eloi
Wooden sword! He was born near Limoges, in Chaptelat, but Eloi is especially famous for having founded the abbey of Solignac, a jewel of Romanesque art. The village itself is…a novel. As you stroll through its streets and along the banks of the Briance, our Greeter will reveal to you the daily life of this village like no other.

Our town in the countryside
Everywhere from Limoges, the second city of Nouvelle-Aquitaine, you can see the countryside but you can also go there and stroll in the parks on hot days on the banks of the Aurence or the Auzette. If you like flowers, trees and children’s games, you will enjoy our welcoming lawns while chatting with one of our Greeters, always bucolic!
