MEUDON HILL, THE 3 CASTLES

  
Meudon developed around three castles. We will take “The Great Perspective” of Le Nôtre to get to the big terrace: the Château Vieux has been destroyed but the view of Paris is very beautiful. We will see the Orangery of the 17th century and the remaining part of Château Neuf that the Grand Dauphin had built by Mansart; it is home to the Observatory. A beautiful 16th century house that was inhabited among others by Ambrose Paré, surgeon of the king, Armande Béjart, after the death of Molière, now a museum of art and history, is on our way. Parisians built large country houses in the 19th century, in the middle of which circulate pleasant and fragrant scents.
